Mark and the Groove Diggers are a variety band playing classic Rock, Blues, Country, RnB, and all points in between.

Born in 1964 and raised in the Fort Smith Arkansas area, Mark was blessed with diverse musical surroundings. He was international finalist in the GIT scholarship competition sponsored by Fender Musical Instruments. He has shared the stage with greats such as the legendary B. B. King, Phoebe Snow, and Harp great, Billy Blanks. Mark has worked other regional greats like Arkansas’ own Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screaming Radishes and Oklahoma’s Wanda Watson as her lead guitarist and backing vocalist. Mark’s skill’s have been utilized as staff guitarist for Ben Jack Recording Studio’s. Mark has long been considered to be a well rounded, soulful player adding a distinct sound with his guitar to any band he plays with, especially his own Mark Albertson Trio. Steve picked up a bass early in life after watching the bass players in his Mom’s bands. He has played around the region with most of the old “Garrison Avenue Crew” as well as road trip bar gigs, festivals, rallies, and good old pasture parties in multiple states. Some of his bass work can be heard at Reverberation “bassplayersareyourfriend”. Steve found a home with The Groove Diggers and provides a wealth of factual information about most drummer’s behavior in their natural habitat

Jenks Smith began playing drums when he was 11 years old. He has played with many bands and his musical career, but none that ever really did a whole lot. He drove the same van for 30 years, and had some friends in college. He still enjoys playing the drums, but the fourth said as always a killer.
