The Stave & Thief Society is an in-depth training program for the world of American whiskey. \nWine has Sommeliers. Beer has Cicerones. And now\, Bourbon has Stewards. You know the differences between Whiskey\, Bourbon\, and Rye. But do you know enough to be certified in Bourbon? Now you can find out. The Stave & Thief Society offers the world’s only industry-recognized Bourbon certification program. \n906 Cocktail and Cigar Lounge is the first Lounge in Arkansas to become a Stave & Thief Society Establishment Member as such we can hold the Certified Bourbon Steward classes under the direction of our Executive Bourbon Steward Paul Brandt. \nLEARNING OUTCOMES – You will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the differences in the types of whiskeys and how to identify them based on Labeling Descriptions.\nExplain the basic science of the distillation process.\nDefine and explain the different bourbon classifications such as Bottled in Bond\, Small Batch\, and Single Barrel and be able to identify bourbons belonging to each class.\nIdentify basic differences in proof\, age and mash bill in a blind sensory evaluation.\nUnderstand the distillation and aging aspects of bourbon.\n\nUpon successful completion and passage of the on-line exam you will be certified and receive Lifetime Membership in the Stave & Thief Society. \nAs well as a lapel pin that visibly designates you as a Bourbon Steward. \nClass size is Limited to 20 Participants. DESCRIPTION:Oreo Blue: Astonishing and blistering guitar buttressed by a rock solid and grooving rhythm section. Widely regarded as one of the region’s top acts\, Northwest Arkansas-based Oreo Blue has thrilled audiences for over 30 years in clubs\, at festivals\, corporate parties\, and special events. Oreo Blue has produced eleven independently released original audio CDs that have sold copies in more than 30 different countries. Oreo Blue produced a full length CD/DVD video tribute to Jimi Hendrix that was endorsed by the Hendrix family. In 2005\, the Oreo Blue Experience was named the #1 Hendrix tribute for the year by Voodoo Child Magazine. Oreo Blue’s latest release\, Oreo Blue:  Thirtieth Anniversary Live Concert DVD & USB \, is a full-live original album and concert video summing up the best of the band’s original music over the past three decades. Having garnered individual awards in each member’s category by both the NAMA’s and OMA Awards\, Oreo Blue has been named Blues Band of the Year five times\, earned the OMA award for Overall Musicianship in 2004 and 2005\, and was named to the NAMA Hall of Fame in 2006 and received the NAMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Guitarist Gary Hutchison received the OMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. SUMMARY:Mark & The Groove Diggers
DESCRIPTION:Mark and the Groove Diggers are a variety band playing classic Rock\, Blues\, Country\, RnB\, and all points in between. \nBorn in 1964 and raised in the Fort Smith Arkansas area\, Mark was blessed with diverse musical surroundings. He was international finalist in the GIT scholarship competition sponsored by Fender Musical Instruments. He has shared the stage with greats such as the legendary B. B. King\, Phoebe Snow\, and Harp great\, Billy Blanks. Mark has worked other regional greats like Arkansas’ own Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screaming Radishes and Oklahoma’s Wanda Watson as her lead guitarist and backing vocalist. Mark’s skill’s have been utilized as staff guitarist for Ben Jack Recording Studio’s. Mark has long been considered to be a well rounded\, soulful player adding a distinct sound with his guitar to any band he plays with\, especially his own Mark Albertson Trio. His rich\, southern\, soulful blues vocals obviously pull from deep within his heart.Mark Albertson(Guitar/Vocals) \nSteve picked up a bass early in life after watching the bass players in his Mom’s bands. He has played around the region with most of the old “Garrison Avenue Crew” as well as road trip bar gigs\, festivals\, rallies\, and good old pasture parties in multiple states. Some of his bass work can be heard at Reverberation “bassplayersareyourfriend”. Steve found a home with The Groove Diggers and provides a wealth of factual information about most drummer’s behavior in their natural habitat \nJenks Smith began playing drums when he was 11 years old. He has played with many bands and his musical career\, but none that ever really did a whole lot. He drove the same van for 30 years\, and had some friends in college. He still enjoys playing the drums\, but the fourth said as always a killer.\nHe has played with many bands in his musical career\, but the fourth set is always a killer.\nHe still enjoys\, playing the drums\, and hopes you like it too.
